Culmination of the year long fund raising efforts is an event to be held on February 8th, 2009. The Ride for Cure will be held at the Pompano Beach GoodYear Blimp Base. It looks like a great time for the kids and it is a big deal and is a really fun day for all.

Re: Honor Donation
Dear PBTF,
Please accept this donation in the amount of $400.00 in Honor of our niece
Sarah Steed Akers. Diagnosed on May 1st with a brain tumor, this news sent our family in into a wide range of emotions. Nevertheless, the family braced for a tough time for this beautiful 2 ½ year old little girl.
Surgery was scheduled on May 7th at Miami Children’s Hospital and our prayers were answered with a successful operation and a return home on Mother’s Day. Sarah is recuperating well and we are looking forward to a fun and healthy life ahead for our little niece.
The story of this donation actually begins on May 8th with a trip to Riva Motorsports in Pompano Beach, Florida. While standing at the parts counter I noticed the donation jug for the Pediatric Brain Trust Foundation Ride for Kids event in February of 2009. It really hit home and we immediately contacted PBTF to see how we can help.
Before I made it home, my wife Claire came up with the idea to take donations at an up-coming Motorcycle event that we were putting on at our ranch in Okeechobee Florida. That evening we made our own donation jug that was placed at the registration area during the Mudders Day Hare Scramble sanctioned by the Florida Trail Riders. This event was attended by over 3000 people and 624 competitors.
The generosity of the Florida Trail Riders really came through with donations being made the entire weekend ending with the winner of a 50/50 raffle donating her entire winnings to the Foundation. Topping that, the South East Florida Trail Riders then took the other half of the raffle money and donated it to the Foundation. During the entire weekend, all public addresses mentioned the Foundation and truly brought awareness to the cause and the Ride for Kids coming up next February.
We want to thank the Foundation for all the hard work and we are happy to be involved on behalf of our loving niece Sarah Steeds Akers.
Sincerely yours,
Tom & Claire Clark
