Clare Sciulli's Fundraising Page
As most of my family & friends know, I am a fanatic about animals ( just ask my sister Ellen, who refers to me as "crazy dog lady" because I love them so much!). About 4 years ago, we rescued Snickers, a Shih-tzu (we think) that was left at a "Kill" Center. She has brought so much love and joy to our family, and I cannot imagine why someone would have given her up, but they did. By adopting her, we gave her a second chance, and also made our home a happier place. An animal rescue organization made this possibe.
The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is a no-kill rescue organization dedicated to saving the most vulnerable animals in the City's animal control shelter. It is Philadelphia's largest rescue partner and is working to make the city a place in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home.
On Saturday, October 31, Snickers & I ,along with some of the Flyers' wives and other fans are participating in the PAWS Mutt Strut as members of the "Flyers' Furry Friends" team to help raise funds to care for these innocent victims of neglect and abuse. The 3rd Annual PAWS Mutt Strut will bring animal lovers and their pets together for a 1.5-mile scenic walk through FDR Park. We will raise badly needed funds for PAWS' lifesaving programs including adoption, foster care, spay/neuter surgery, and veterinary care. We will also raise awareness of the harsh reality that thousands of healthy and treatable animals are killed in Philadelphia each year, simply because they do not have homes.
The Mutt Strut will offer us a day of companionship and celebration, and will enable PAWS to give countless more animals the chance to experience that companionship and safety for themselves. Please give whatever you can, and consider joining me on October 31!
Thanks! Clare & Snickers
