Is your child, neice, nephew, godchild, grandchild, neighbor kid, friends child - healthy? Imagine if today you were told they have a brain tumor? Your life and theirs as you know it would change. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is trying to find the reason and a cure for brain tumors. They have many new discoveries and changes to treatments, but they have a long way to go as there are so many kinds of tumors and cancers.
Dave and I have been passionate about this cause since we found the Ride for Kids program in the mid 1990's. We have been involved in the Cleveland 'Ride for Kids' since its first year in 2004. We have met the most amazing, strong wonderful, children. Children facing their mortality and the hardest of obstacles, some that most adults will never have to face, and yet they are still smiling. The parents of these children face heartbreak and worries and financial burdens most will never have to face. We have learned so much from these kids and their parents. Last year a beautiful strong 13 yr old girl we knew lost her fight with her tumor. She was an incredible little girl, everyone that met her loved her. There needs to be a cure. Please help us raise money to fund research to find that cure.
The Cleveland 'RIde for Kids' in its first year raised $27,000+. In 2011, its 7th year, Cleveland raised $78,861!!! That was raised with people coming together to give what they can afford and what they were able to collect by asking friends, co-workers, family etc. No amount is too small. Please, if you are only able to give $5.00, its $5 more than we had.
