The Orange County chapter of Coastal GS Rescue will have placed more than 300 dogs in loving homes this year. With all our success and our loyal donor base, we still find ourselves facing an uncertain future. So many of our orphans are not in good health due to their shelter stay and the stress that they are put under. In the last three weeks alone, we have dealt with the deadly parvo virus (in three puppies who are thriving today), two cases of pneumonia (both well on the mend), a puppy with head trauma (we ultimately lost her) - these costs alone exceeded $8,000 in medical expenses.
Each month we incur expenses between $20,000 - $30,000 in order to provide boarding, food, and veterinary care. There is no paid staff, we are truly an all volunteer organization. As you determine your charitable giving as the year draws to a close, we hope that you will consider Coastal to be your charity of choice.
