Waylon has survived parvo! Help us pay his bill!
Waylon was rescued by Coastal German Shepherd Rescue along with his mom from a very high kill animal shelter in the Inland Empire. They were both set to be euthanized as they had not been reclaimed after 3 days at the shelter. It appears that Waylon and Jenny were probably dumped in a rural area when their owner decided they did not want them any longer. After rescuing this lovely pair of German Shepherds, we noticed that Waylon was not feeling too good! During our adoption event on Saturday, our quick volunteers noticed that Waylon was dragging and rushed him into one of our favorite vets. After examining Waylon and running a few tests, it was confirmed that Waylon had parvo.
Parvo can be a life threatnening disease especially in puppies. We had no time to figure out how we would pay for his care. We quickly said yes to the treatment and hoped with aggressive treatment he would turn around quickly. Dr. Wheaton and his staff treated Waylon through the weekend with antibiotics, fluid therapy and anti-viral meds. On Monday am, we got the best news we had hoped for! Waylon was doing much better and eating on his own!! Waylon has been released to our foster care and is regaining his strength little by little every day.
We have incurred a pretty hefty medical bill for Waylon's treatment and we need your help to pay it! We routinely try to raise funds for medical needs but when cases like Waylon's come up we have to make a split second, life saving decision. Please help us pay for Waylon's care! All signs point to a full recovery and Waylon will soon be ready to find his forever home!
UPDATE!!
Waylon is doing great! He seems to have turned a big corner and is acting like a typical happy, bouncy puppy. Thank YOU for your donations and support! We are close to half way to our goal.
