We were sent Rio's picture on Friday and knew we needed to figure out a way to help him. It seems Rio was left with a collar on his neck that was far too small and the collar grew into his neck. The shelter removed the collar but he bears the wounds left behind. He has large gaping wounds from where the collar literally grew into his skin. 

We will get Rio the medical care that he needs but we need your help! We can not continue to save these critical medical cases without your help.

Rio will be evaluated tomorrow by our surgical team and we will determine what the best option is. We are assuming that he will need surgical closure on at least one of the wounds.
