Thank you for visiting the fundraising page for the Cole County 4-H Shooting Sports Program! Shooting Sports is the largest 4-H program in Cole County, with approximately 50 members in 6 disciplines. We currently have certified instructors in archery, pistol (air pistol and .22), rifle (air rifle and .22), and shotgun. If you would like to become a certified instructor in Muzzle Loading or Hunter Skills, we would love to talk to you!
Even though the 4-H Shooting Sports program in Cole County is only 5 years old, we are one of the largest programs in the state, and our members are shooting competitively. For the last 5 years, Cole County has sent at least one member to the National Shooting Sports Contest. Last year, Cole County had 3 members compete at the national level. As our younger members reach 14 years of age, we anticipate the number of competitors from Cole County at state and national contests will increase.
But, as you can see in this video of the 2007 national competition (2007 National Invitational), getting our members ready to compete requires a lot of equipment. Each discipline needs basic equipment like bows and guns, arrows and ammo, targets and silhouettes, plus equipment used in competition like spotting scopes, rifle and pistol scopes, team t-shirts, and transportation.
You can help the Cole County 4-H Shooting Sports program get our members ready for this year's competitions by making a donation through this website. Any amount is helpful, to offset costs for targets and ammo to spotting scopes and mounted scopes. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! If you are a member of a shooting or hunting organization that distributes a newsletter, we would greatly appreciate inclusion of a link to this webpage in your newsletter. We can even provide a brief article on the program, with photos. For more information, please contact the Cole County Extension Office at 573-634-2824.
If you're just not comfortable making a donation on-line, you can mail a check to the Cole County 4-H Foundation at the Cole County Extension Office at 2436 Tanner Bridge Rd., Jefferson City, MO 65101. Your donation will be listed on the webpage either way. And, if you'd prefer, you can use "Anonymous" instead of your name, and that's the way it will appear on the website.
Thank you for helping us train our young people in safe shooting sports activities!
