The Board of Directors has committed fundraised dollars to keep Legal Services going through September 2009! This is due to the community's ever increasing need and to those of you who have given through this site and through contributions sent directly to the agency. Together, we contributed nearly $1,000 toward the Legal Services project - almost a half of my target. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Our Development Department is continuing its efforts to secure long-term financial stability for this much needed - and utilized - program. Until then, please consider supporting this and other valuable Common Ground programs.

On a typical Tuesday night, the waiting area at Common Ground's administrative building is overflowing with anxious people waiting for legal advice. One by one, they are seen by volunteer attorneys who carefully review their case and give them advice on how to respond. The Common Ground Legal Clinic is open to anyone FREE OF CHARGE. More than 50% of those served through the Legal Clinic are living at or below the poverty level and have no where else to turn.
While our volunteer attorneys do not actually represent clients in court, they offer information, referrals, help our clients to complete critical paperwork and devise a plan of action.
Unfortunately, funding for the Legal Clinic will be discontinued in June. Without proper funding, services will be drastically reduced, or worse, closed altogether. We need to raise $50,000 over the course of the next 8 months to keep the Legal Clinic open.
My goal is to raise $2,000. With your help, I can reach that goal. Every little bit helps, and your contribution is tax deductible. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
