Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is an amazing organization that began with pediatric cancer patient Alexandra Scott’s dream to help her doctors find a cure for kids with cancer. The first lemonade stand was held by her brother in July 2000 and, as of June 2007, the Foundation has raised over $17 million for childhood cancer research. During “Lemonade Days,” a three-day national event which takes place every June, volunteers across the country host their own lemonade stands to raise money to benefit this foundation and fight childhood cancer. With the kind support of O’Doodles toy store, the MOMS Club of Philadelphia-NW will host a lemonade stand during Lemonade Days 2008—June 6th, 7th, and 8th.
As mothers of young children, this is a cause that is close to the hearts of the MOMS Club members. It has become especially significant to the group as one of their MOMS has a six-month-old daughter who is fighting retinoblastoma. Therefore, the Club will dedicate their stand to the honor of Chloe Griffith. Chloe’s mom Danielle has experienced first-hand the amazing support that this foundation has given to families battling pediatric cancer. Chloe and her family have been an inspiration to the MOMS Club, and this is a wonderful opportunity to show them--and all families touched by pediatric cancer--your support.
