ETC is proud to have been named as a recipient of memorial contributions for Joy Rushfelt, a beloved friend and long-time supporter of Educate the Children. Joy passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005, at her home in Leawood, KS after a courageous bout with leukemia.

Joy had an abiding interest and commitment to helping provide adequate education for underprivileged children and youth in Nepal through Educate the Children. Joy's mother, Pearl Jungferman, was an early and long-term supporter of ETC, beginning her sponsorship of three students in 1991 until her death in 1997. After her mother's death, Joy continued supporting these three students, as well as making possible an annual outing for all of ETC's sponsored students and staff.

On behalf of all of the people in Nepal who have benefited from Joy's generosity, we at Educate the Children would like to offer her our sincere gratitude; and to those who have been affected by this loss, especially her husband, Jerry, we send our deepest condolences.
