Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Basically the shortest way to explain where your money would go should you decide to donate is this. There is an organization called Hoops of Hope, 100% of donations to this organization go directly to helping orphans in Africa, in all sorts of ways, from anti-AIDS education to building hospitals, or even the simple act of feeding them. If you would like some more background information before making a decision about donating there’s more below. : ) Thank you for taking time to read this and if you feel lead to give thank you all the more.

Along with thousands of other participants, I've made a commitment to participate in a Hoops of Hope, a free throw shooting marathon. I'm doing this to help children who have been orphaned by HIV and AIDS. Over the past five years, Hoops of Hope participants have raised over 1 million dollars. The money raised by participants has gone to sponsor over 100 orphans, fund a water project in Kenya and build a high school and two medical clinics in Zambia. Last year our school tried this program and it was a big success. Between everyone involved we raised a total of $3000. This year we are hoping for even more. How this works at our school is we collect money from wherever we can (again 100% of the proceeds go to help orphans in Africa) and we get together with an inner city elementary school. Each person in our class has an individual “buddy” from the other school. We have been exchanging journals for a few months to get to know them. We will bring their whole class out to our school on May 22nd. We get everyone in the gym and we have all of the students shoot 250 free throws each. This whole getting together with the students from the inner city school gets them involved in helping people somewhere else in the world and helps instill in them the feeling of joy that comes from helping someone else.

Across the world over 5,700 children every day are losing one or both parents to HIV and AIDS. I can't possibly help them all, but if each of us helps a little, we can make a big difference!

Will you support the cause by making a donation on this webpage? Donating on this webpage is simple, tax-deductable, and totally secure. If you would like more information about Hoops of Hope and current projects or would also like to join the free throw shooting marathon, you can visit the Hoops of Hope website at www.hoopsofhope.org. Thank you so much for your time, consideration, and dontations.
