Corey Wilburn's Fundraising Page
Special Olympics does not receive funds from the government and is not a United Way agency, rather it is supported solely by corporations and individuals such as yourself. Law Enforcement, across the country and around the world, lead the fundraising effort for Special Olympics through the Torch Run which started in 1981 in Wichita, KS (thus the Kansas motto, "First to Carry the Torch!")
In case you were wondering, funds raised for Special Olympics-Kansas in 2008 provided: 4,854 atheletes an opportunity to compete in 22 sports during 70 competitions during which 23,101 medals and ribbons were awarded with 30,422 meals beings served to the athletes.
