Trey is a loveable, handsome, AMAZING 6 year old boy with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Diagnosed on his 5th birthday with DMD, we constantly wish we could STOP the hands of time. WE NEED A CURE NOW!!!
DMD virtually wastes every muscle in a young boy’s body until a fertile young mind is trapped inside a useless body. These children learn to walk and that will be taken away. They learn to run and jump and that will be taken away. They learn to sit up and that will be taken away. They learn to hug their moms and dads and that will be taken away. During teenage years heart and lung problems begin and their bodies eventually become unable to fight the inevitable complications. Reality has us facing the fact that most boys do not make it into their 20’s.
We are fighting for Trey and for the lives of the 20,000 boys who are born every year with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It knows no race, no ethnicity, and it needs not a family history…there is no cure and it can happen to YOU. Since modern medical research has made such monumental advances against many diseases, we have come to expect treatments for practically every illness. It is shocking to learn that Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the #1 most lethal genetic disorder among children, affecting one in every 3,500 boys, STILL HAS NO CURE. But finally, thanks to recent scientific breakthroughs, THERE IS HOPE!
We need your help. Our goal is huge and our need is great. Please do not let Trey and thousands of boys around the world succumb to this disease. We know that with the scientific team working day and night we can beat this if we have the funds to do so.
Last year, we climbed the Manitou Incline, the HIGHEST incline in the world and many donations later, and an AMAZING climbing crew of 100 raised $32,000 for Duchenne Research.
This year people all over the nation will be climbing stairwells, mountains, and mole hills to scream from 'the heavens' for a cure. Due to some circumstances that are beyond our control, we will not personally be doing a climb THIS YEAR but next year we have AMAZING things in the making! Just wait!!! In the meantime please help us reach our small goal this year of $1000 to support those who are climbing by donating in Trey's name. This disease will not beat us!!!
We are not asking for money to help with medical bills or for a trip or for a wheelchair or medications. We are asking for donations that will go straight into the hands of the researchers. (100% of the donations are tax deductible. You will get a letter for your taxes). Very promising research is happening right now to help cure our boys, and although with these drugs our sons will never be the next ‘Superman’ they will be able to live a relatively normal life, much like those with diabetes. Funding needs to continue to be handed to these researchers so that they are able to continue to work on these promising drugs.
