I don’t know how she did it, but in the darkest moments of our lives, when things felt hopeless, our Mom could make any problem go away. She’d stroke our hair and curl the straggling pieces behind our ears as she offered us wise words followed by a steaming bowl of homemade soup or just a piece of cake. These are the moments we’ve missed.
Our mother, Corinne Fuchs, suffered from Lewy Body Dementia—a particularly cruel disease that affects the brain like Alzheimer’s and the muscles like Parkinson’s. Our mother was the strongest woman we’ve ever known, but even she was no match for this relentless disease that steals your mind and your body. Complications of LBD took her from us on August 18, 2011. However, long before she passed, she lost the ability to speak or move on her own. Fortunately, she always knew how much we loved her.
We have pledged to spare other families the pain of this disease by raising awareness and funds. We are so pleased that you are considering supporting our efforts with a donation to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Any amount will be appreciated.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure.
