Autism Resource Center of Arkansas
The Autism Resource Center of Arkansas is dedicated to serving children and young adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including Asperger's Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD). It is our mission to empower children and families with information and training to maximize the quality of life and developmental potential of affected individuals.
Our goal is to create a comprehensive autism resource library that will offer books, DVDS, and other reference materials in a central location at no cost to visitors.
We believe such a library will empower and educate families and associated professionals to make well-informed decisions regarding the treatment, opportunities, and education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- The library will be located in or near the Community Connections office in Conway, AR and will include space for visitors to look through books, watch DVDs, and research on the Internet.
- A scanner/printer will also be provided so that visitors can copy and take material home with them.
- Books and DVDs will be available for check-out so that individuals can continue to educate themselves beyond the library doors.
- Autism educational/support meetings and seminars will be videotaped and put online so that Arkansans ANYWHERE in the state can access info.
WE PLAN TO CREATE AN ENDOWMENT WITH THE MONEY RAISED FOR THE LIBRARY SO THAT IT CAN BE MAINTAINED/UPDATED FOR YEARS TO COME.
Your support of this library would be GREATLY appreciated. Your contribution will help children and families with autism for years to come. For more information about Community Connections or the Autism Resource Center of Arkansas, please view our website at www.communityconnectionsar.org.
