On September 17, 2005, the Orange County Affiliate of the Huntington's Disease Society of America will be holding the Team Hope Walk at UC Irvine Campus, Aldrich Park, 7:00 AM. This event will raise funds to support research aimed at developing treatment and a cure for Huntington's Disease, as well as to provide support and care for patients and their families.

Huntington's Disease is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treatment or cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason. Eventually, the person with HD becomes totally dependent upon others for his or her care. Huntington's Disease profoundly affects the lives of entire families -- emotionally, socially and economically.
A brisk walk around beautiful Aldrich Park, entertainment, silent auction, and raffle prizes! This event is a testimonial of camaderie and hope in bringing the community together at the heart of where HD research is currently taking place in Orange County. Meet the HD researchers who come out and walk with us every year! Bring the entire family! Babies on strollers love the morning stroll around the park! Pets on a leash are welcome, too! This is a fantastic event for everyone!
