2012 Croton Bridges
On February 18, 2012 Croton Bridges will be making its fourth trip to Nicaragua. We will be traveling to a rural section of the country where we will be living and working with the families in a small community of Nindiri . Our group of 18 students and 4 adults will be spending 8 days working in the second poorest country in the world. It is a place where the fight for social justice and basic human rights is a daily battle.
With the help of a nonprofit organization called Bridges to Community, our group will be working with families to build two new sustainable homes. The current quality of a home, with its scrap wood walls and tin roof is no match for the hurricanes and earthquakes that plague this area . Dirt floors, no door to lock and a roof that leaks means that their basic human need of a safe shelter is not being met.
This year we will be building two homes – the 6th and 7th that Croton Bridges has been privileged to build. Our work effort will be life-changing for two families who call Nindiri home. A priceless gift.
If you would like to support our efforts and become part of this life-changing experience you will be helping to build a bridge to a world unlike our own.
