Competing for a Cause.. Please Sponsor Me
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
On Sunday, October 10, 2005, I will "run for the boys who can't" in the Twin Cities Marathon. I am running to bring visibility to one of the leading killers of young boys, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This disorder affects 1 in every 3500 boys worldwide. Most will be in wheel chairs by 10 and will not live past their teens. One of those boys is my seven year-old nephew, Hawken.
We urgently need your help to raise $1,100,000 by December, 2005. Some of the leading scientists around the world have identified a potential breakthrough to help treat and save Duchenne Boys. They need funding NOW! We have great faith and hope that you will help us reach our goal.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Send this link to 2 friends. Ask them to be a sponsor and to pass it on to 2 of their friends...and so on...and so on. By doing this, you'll help get the word out about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and help raise the funds needed to find the cure. It adds up! Every pledge counts!
If you are running in the marathon (or competing in any other event), do it for CureDuchenne. You can create your own personal fundraising page by selecting the icon above (right) that says "I want a page like this". Or, we can create one for you. Simply contact ellen@cureduchenne.org or call (310) 320-0873.
You can also send your donation by check to:
CureDuchenne

(In the memo section of your check, put the initials "amg".)
Both CureDuchenne and I thank you in advance for any support you can give. If you would like more information on the disease, or what we are doing, please visit their website:
