WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

I remember when I was a child going around town and asking people to sponsor me during walks (usually on a dollars or cents per mile basis).  With this site I hope to create a more modern version of that particular method of fundraising.  I will be reporting the distances I run and bike via DailyMile (send me a friend request if you are on there too) which then posts the info via Twitter (@curtiswsmith).

Although it is certainly not required and all donations are welcome please consider the cost/mile model when donating (if for nothing more than old time's sake).

WHY HARVESTER'S?

Short answer:  I love food and believe nobody should go hungry:)

Real (and longer) answer:  For the 2nd year in a row I participated in Harvester's Day of Caring and once again was thoroughly impressed with them.  They do remarkable work collecting and distributing food throughout the KC metro area.  The majority of the recipients are children (one of the very few things I love more than food).  After watching a video detailing Harvester's programs I was compelled to do more to help.
