Animal winterization
Winter is now upon us, and due to new arrivals in the past year we have an extra need for winterization materials this year. While Amadeus wolf and his new clan complete with wolf pups greatly enjoys romping in the snow, some of our other animals are not as enthused. In 2009 we received an ocelot (Tres) due to Hurricane Katrina. She has never lived north of Mississippi. It will be challenging for her to become accustomed to the colder climate.
At this time thanks to our sponsors all animals have den boxes. In order to provide these animals with pleasant, warm conditions the money needed will fund items like, heated buckets, heating pads, frost free hydrants, and wheat straw.
The animals truly appreciate each donation especiallly when it applies to their habitat. It is very satisfying to watch the animals when receiving a bale of wheat straw, they take great pride in the perfecting process of straw arrangement for their den box.
Any amount is appreciated. If you are interested in sponsoring an item or all winterization materials needed for a certain animal that you may be overly fond of, please contact the Center for more information.
