Running with Team TD Bank Green Machine was lots of fun.  Our team came in 81st out of 217 teams with a time of 29:08:48.  I met some nice people and ran in new places.

My runs were leg 5 (from Easton into West Bridgewater, home to the oldest standing parsonage in the US -- the Keith House, 1662) past blooming fields on "country" roads late Friday morning, 5/6; leg 17 across the Sagamore Bridge and on the Cape Cod canal trail in Sandwich at around 10:30pm 5/6; and leg 29 through wetland scenery along the Cape Cod trail in Eastham in the mid morning Saturday, 5/7.

The people, the scenery, the running...  This was an experience I am likely to repeat!

Greetings Family and Friends—

I will embark on a new running adventure when I participated in a 189-mile overnight running relay May 6-7, 2011! It will be the 13Relay.com Cape Relay from Borderland State Park in Easton to Truro, MA.

I know, it sounds crazy. The first thing people ask is “Why!?” Well it certainly will be a new way for me to experience running. Also, I’d like to see what those who have done overnight relays – and done them again – are raving about.

I will be a member of a 12-person team of men and women each running 3 legs of the 36-leg race.  Each leg ranges from approx. 2-12 miles.  My part will be about 11 miles total.  To learn more see “The New Cape Cod Relay” article by Skip Cleaver.

To commemorate this new experience I am doing voluntary ongoing fundraising for the Breast Cancer Fund (BCF), the non-profit partner of Team Luna Chix – of which I am a member.
