2011 NCBIDA Dyslexia Dash
Dear Friends & Family -
These are my two daughters, Lily and Fiona. Lily is an avid reader and Fiona is master rhymer! Aside from being a proud mama to these two wonderful, linguistic girls, I am an advocate for and passionate about children who are struggling with reading and language acquisition. I believe that it is every child's right to be given the tools to achieve their potential while recognizing their individual strengths. Please help support me by donating to my participation in the NCBIDA's 2nd Annual Dyslexia Dash. Your money will support our educational outreach programs including scholarships for teacher training in evidence based research methods of teaching reading.
Did you know...
* Dyslexia is the most common learning difference and affects about 20% of the population.
* Dysleixa is a language-based learning difference that affects people with average to above average intelligence.
* Third grade reading scores are used to forecast prison capacity in some states.
* With early intervention, these children have a 90 - 95% chance at becoming a fluent reader and leading a more productive life!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. Please share with anyone that might be interested in supporting my cause.
With deepest gratitude,
Cindy Schlichte
