Happy New Year!
OK, so I am lame, I have kept the standard informational message below, but it says it best...I am jumping in the lake to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois!
This is not my first time, maybe my fifth, I seemed to have forgotten! Anyway...things are different this year. THIS YEAR, I will be jumping in the lake at MY OWN PLUNGE! Yes folks, now that I am the Area Director for Special Olympics Illinois - Area 18, I will be running, with the help of a tremendous committee of volunteers, my first Polar Plunge!
If that is not incentive enough to pledge me, well I am not sure what is! Any amount helps as it supports such a great organization. One that I am proud to call my employer and family. Thanks for considering a donation, know that your support is felt year-round in the smiles and feelings of accomplishment these athletes display every day!
Now for the standard informational message...
Thank you for visiting my Polar Plunge fundraising page. They say anyone with a little guts and a warm heart can take the Plunge and I am one of those folks. I’m collecting pledges from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support the more than 22,000 athletes of Special Olympics Illinois! Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition.
To reward your generosity, I’m going to join over 3,600 people statewide who will voluntarily jump into freezing cold water in the middle of winter as we take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges for Special Olympics Illinois.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the LETR Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois.
Many thanks for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
