Dan McGinnis's Fundraising Page
On August 10th, I will join Major League Baseball (MLB) Umpire Tim Timmons and other caring supporters at The Lakes Golf and Country Club in Westerville, OH where we will be driving and putting our way through 100 holes of golf. The first-ever Safe at Home Golf Marathon raises funds to benefit children in foster care awaiting adoption.
Please pledge your support to help increase the adoptions of children waiting in Ohio's foster care system and provide unique baseball experiences for children awaiting adoption all across the country.

Children are Waiting: The Facts - Children enter foster care through no fault of their own. As victims of child abuse, neglect and/or abandonment, they are removed from their home because their birth family is unable or unwilling to provide a safe environment for them.
- More than 129,000 children in the U.S. foster care system are available for adoption.
- Children often wait 5+ years to be adopted, move 3 or more times in foster care and are separated from siblings. More than half of these children are nine years of age or older.
- Each year, 1 in 5 children who are available for adoption turn 18 and leave the foster care system without a family.
- In Ohio alone, there are 4,000 children waiting to be adopted.
Proceeds from the Safe at Home Golf Marathon will be directed toward two wonderful non-profits.
- The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption will apply funds to hire and retain adoption professionals who focus exclusively on placing foster care children in Ohio with adoptive families.
- UMPS CARE Charities will apply funds toward a youth ticket program that provides unique baseball experiences at Major League Baseball stadiums for children awaiting adoption.
