Giving back to those who gave so much!
The Eastern Pa River Runners a local charter club of The American Watercraft Association is proud to join forces this year with The Family And Friends For Freedom Fund, to raise money for this wonderful organization that aids in the recovery of our combat wounded Marines as well as servicemen and women from other branches of the armed forces who are recovering at both Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Medical Center.
At sunrise on July 11th the 2nd Annual Operation Helping Hero's Freedom Ride will commence with the hopes and dreams of America's hero's riding with them. They will depart from Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, MD. and set out on a journey that when completed will have taken them roughly 275 miles round trip on personal watercraft. The journey will follow a route down the Chesapeake Bay and then turning up the Potomac River to Quantico Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Va. where they will layover for the evening. Early the next morning July 12th they will head up the Potomac to Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge, Va. where they will meet up with 100 or so watercraft riders from around the area. From here they will travel to Washington, D.C. in the hopes of raising awareness within the community and the government to the need to help America's wounded soldiers and the need to protect the personal watercraft enthusiast's freedom to enjoy recreational boating. They will then return to the park for a picnic and festivities before returning to the Marine Corps Base for the evening. Early Sunday morning July 13 the River Runners will depart and begin their trip back to Sandy Point State Park along the same path that they arrived.
If you enjoy the freedom that you and your family have in this great country of ours, then help those who have fought and suffered to bring you that freedom. Do your part in whatever way you can to help The Family and Friends For Freedom Fund assist the fine servicemen and women who have fought so bravely for your right to live in the home of the FREE and the BRAVE.
