Donating through this website is simple, fast and secure. It is
also the most efficient way to support fundraising efforts for Two
Brothers/ Instituto Dois Irmãos .
The Instituto Dois Irmãos focuses on providing educational opportunities to the children, adolescents and adults of the favela Rocinha through international community service and cultural exchange. The Institute offers extra tutoring help; classes in foreign languages such as English, Spanish and French, and creative and physical workshops. A mission of the Instituto Dois Irmãos is to improve the literacy levels and interpersonal skills within the favela. Volunteers at the Instituto Dois Irmãos are engaged in extra-educational activities with children, which help them avoid falling into the cycle of drugs, poverty and violence. Adults gain language and technical skills that give them a better chance of finding jobs.
Volunteers at i2i engage in culturalexchange and international work projects. Volunteers and Interns experience unique and culturally enriching international community service through the Instituto Dois Irmãos. The Institute has thrived on international volunteers since it was offically founded and registered in 2000. International volunteers are part of a hands-on cultural experience in Rocinha and make running the institute possible every year.
i2i is a small organization that heavily relies on private donations,
fundraising events and the cooperation of volunteers for its survival. i2i has successfully provided educational opportunites to 1,600 children, adolsecents and adults living in Rocinha. Over 600 volunteers from 41 different countries have been a part of i2i since its start 10 years ago.
