Olivia is Racing for Kids Who Can't
This summer I have signed up to race in the MiracleKids Triathlon. This race motivates me/us to form the habit of exercising, getting outside and being more fit.
But the MiracleKids isn't about personal glory, it’s about something bigger. Right now hundreds of Minnesota kids have cancer and many are too sick to race. That’s where MiracleKids like me step in. We honor them on race day by having their real 1st name marked on our calf and racing for them.
Knowing that behind that name is the face of a real kid who is suffering changes everything. It motivates us to know, that no matter how tired we get, we have to find the courage to finish. Even though most of these cancer kids can’t be there, they know we are all racing for them and that’s pretty cool.
But there’s more…
Before cancer cut short the life of Mitch Chepokas at only 9 years old, he became the inspiration for the Miracles of Mitch Foundation by giving what he had left to helping other cancer kids. Today, Mitch’s legacy is us MiracleKids following in his footsteps. We do that by raising pledges in the most important campaign of the year for the Foundation. Grants help families in financial distress by paying their bills and making it possible for parents and kids to spend more quality time together during cancer treatments.
Will you please help me reach my goal by making a tax-deductible donation? Your pledge makes a difference and helps make all the miles of swimming, biking and running even more worth it. You can learn more about the cause and the event at www.mkidstri.com
Thanks!
