Dan Murphy Running for The Pat Tillman Foundation
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
In April, along with my wife Heather and sister in-law Jodi, I participated in "Pat's Run" to honor former Army Ranger and Arizona Cardinal Pat Tillman who was killed April 22, 2004 while serving his country in Afghanistan. Currently, I am training for the 2005 Hartford Marathon. I'm using this race as an opportunity to raise money for the Pat Tillman Foundation, which seeks to carry forward Pat's legacy by inspiring and supporting others striving to promote positive change in themselves and the world around them.
Back when it became public that he made the decision to leave his NFL career behind and enlist in the Rangers, I thought Pat's story was very moving. As I learned more about him after his death, the way he lived his life has truly inspired me to challenge the status quo and look for ways to push myself, and those around me, in order to achieve our goals and objectives. When I heard about Pat's Run, it felt like a great way to honor his memory and sacrifice. After finishing that race, I realized that it was only a beginning.
I wish to use this marathon as visible evidence, especially to my girls, that you can reach any goal if you are properly motivated and possess the necessary determination.
