My name is Danielle Kegler, and on behalf of the Twenty-First Century African Youth Movement, Inc. (AYM) I’m asking for your donation.  As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization since 1992, AYM continues to be a growing, global initiative committed to organizing the youth of Africa and the African Diaspora as active participants in the renaissance of Africa for peace, justice, and human rights.

I am asking for your donation to help fund our Supplemental Educational Programs in Sierra Leone, a country recently recovering from a brutal 10 year civil war.  Your donation will benefit the residents of Sierra Leone in the broader community, particularly those who would otherwise not have access to a higher level of education.  Through the Supplemental Educational Programs, we will establish a strong business and economical knowledge in the community, allowing them to prosper as individuals and sustain an independent way of living.

This, in itself, is one of the key differences between AYM and other non-profit organizations.  We are creating the opportunity for individuals to educate and support themselves, instead of just providing them with food and habitat – which only perpetuates the cycle of poverty and illiteracy.
