On Tuesday, January 12, a devastating earthquake struck Haiti causing unbelievable damage to an already poverty stricken country. Tens of thousands are feared missing or dead, and so many more are left homeless and helpless. Schools, churches, homes, and hospitals have been destroyed, and the people of Haiti have been left with absolutely nothing.

I know that we all watch the news and listen to the radio on our way to work, and the thought of helping these people has hopefully crossed everyone's mind. Now is your opportunity to make good on those thoughts. On February 14th, I'll be running the Austin Marathon and I'm asking you to help me raise funds for Oxfam America to help the people of Haiti. Oxfam's response will include providing clean water, shelter, sanitation and helping people recover – your donation will go immediately to the most critical needs in Haiti, and Oxfam will ensure that every penny is used wisely.
