Hi!  I'm Danny.  When I heard that Chris was going to put together a team of runners to run the Chicago Marathon for Team World Vision, I decided to join.  I had been looking for a way to add more physical activity to my routine and the more I thought about it, the more I knew this is what I wanted to do. 

I started running in March 2008 having never run before except from bullies and to the start of a buffet line.  I started out by running a little bit and then walking a little bit, eliminating some of the walking and increasing some of the running.  Now I'm running everywhere and some of you may know some funny stories about my eagerness to run and/or walk to and from various places.  Anyways, I just broke the 200 mile mark of miles I've run since I started this journey and I'm excited to keep going.

What started out as a way to increase my physical activity, strength and health has turned into something greater.  The more I learn about World Vision and what is happening in Africa, the more my heart is drawn to the cause. 

The purpose of Team World Vision is to raise money to help fight poverty in Africa.  Our team's goal is to raise at least $26,000 and to have at least 26 children sponsored.  For those that don't know, a marahon is 26.2 miles long so that is $1000 and 1 sponsored child for each mile of the race.
