This is my 2nd year to be a part of Texas Big Beat, not only as a performer, but as a volunteer.  My wife, Mary, is on the commitee.  My son, Aaron Andrus, and my nephew, Aaron Lee, are performing this year as well.  It truly is a family event for the Lee/Andrus families. It is one of the most incredible experiences of my musical life.  Having hundreds of drummers together in one room, playing the same song at the same time, is a very moving (and loud) experience.  Performing music is a major part of my life.  It all started in beginning band in 6th grade.  Being in a band hall with all my friends, with all these different musical instruments in front of us, changed our lives forever.  That's why I am honored to help raise money for the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, so that we can continue music education in our schools.  Music does change lives for the better.
