Hello!
I turned 40 this year... and I decided it's not time to slow down yet. Why not get out there and train for another marathon?! It has been a great summer to train. There have been ups and downs along the way and some pretty painful body parts.
Just when I was flying high and everything going great, unexpected injury happened! I took a few days off from training due to an inflamed achellis tendon on my left heel. Then I strained my hamstring 3 days before the race...talk about timing! In times of pain and trouble, instead of getting down I look to God's word. Psalm 71:14 is a favorite of mine "But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more!" I thank God that He has been with me the whole way and has given me strength and a will to go on.
God wanted to work a miracle on race day... I went ahead and tried to run with pain. Then after a few miles, the pain melted away and I was able to finish the race and reach the goal!
I was very excited and thankful I could use my energy to run for a great charity again. World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.
Please support my efforts through Team World Vision by making a one-time tax-deductible donation. It would be awesome to match the amount given in 2007 ($926). Every cent will be used to help these wonderful people who need it!
THANK YOU ... GOD'S BLESSINGS !!!
