Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As an education writer for The Grand Rapids Press, I cover people who work hard on behalf of our state's children.
The West Michigan Houth Hockey Foundation's members play a similar role, helping young people strive for excellence in the classroom as well as on the ice.
I grew up in New York following the Islanders during their magnificent Stanley Cup run. But I was introduced to the glories of minor league hockey when we started working in Connecticut in 1986 and followed the New Haven Nighthawks.
We arrived in Michigan in 1990, working in Flint and supporting the Bulldogs of the old Colonial League. But for the past 10 years my family as been proud to call West Michigan home and cheer for the Grand Rapids Griffins.
It's an honor to join the Griffins and their fans on the ice at Rosa Parks Circle for the Great Skate and Winferfest, and help raise money for this wonderful cause.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support, and I hope you can join me and my family at the Great Skate!
