David Brumberg's Fundraising Page
On 12 September 2009 I will participate in my third Aids Ride for Life to help raise money for the Southern Tier Aids Program (STAP). I will ride my bicycle 100 miles around Cayuga Lake with 300+ other cyclists. The previous rides have been truly inspirational and I am looking forward to September 12th and I am training for the day.
The Ride supports STAP, the area's oldest AIDS Service Organization. The agency's mission is to provide effective and innovative HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, education, and outreach services to individuals and communities, and comprehensive and caring services to people with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C in our region.
HIV/AIDS is not in the news as much now as it once was and some people assume the epidemic is over. IT IS NOT. New York State has the largest number of Aids cases in the United States. AIDS is NYS's #2 killer of adults 25-44 years old. There is still much work to be done.
I am riding to raise money so that the work can continue and to give hope and support to the hundreds of people who struggle with HIV and AIDS in our community. All the money raised stays in our region to support STAP.
Your support will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your generosity.
