Water Tribe North Carolina Challenge
My name is David Selden. After 20 years in the Army, I retired from 3rd Special Forces Group in November 2008, and moved to the Wilmington, NC area with my family, where a brief introduction to the sport of kayaking quickly developed into what my wife calls an obsession for kayaking. I have never looked back.
Always looking for a new challenge, I decided to enroll in the 100Mile North Carolina Challenge, to be held on September 30, 2011. Hosted by Watertribe, this race is a self-supported expedition style small boat race. I will run this 21/2 day race alone, and will carry all supplies needed during that time. In an effort to provide even more incentive to myself to actually participate in and finish the race, I have decided to raise money for the Green Beret Foundation.
The Foundation provides financial resources for various health and welfare programs that assist the wounded or ill Special Forces warrior where other organizations cannot or will not assist. For specifics, please see the Foundation website at www.greenberetfoundation.org.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
