Dave Harmon thanks you for your support
HOORAY and THANK YOU!
We have more than met our goal of raising $3,000 for research to find cures for cancer and leukemia. Thanks to all of you, we WILL find cures for kids like Tommy (and like some of our friends/family/patients mentioned below) through the Massachusetts General Hospital Children's Cancer and Leukemia Research Fund.
I am thrilled that our fund-raising has exceeded all expectations. Of course there is no reason to stop now.
Please tell your generous-spirited friends that their donations are tax deductible, whether given online right here (this site is simple, fast and secure) or by check to the "Mass General Marathon Run" mailed to my secretary, Donna Silva, Yawkey 7944, Mass General Hospital, Boston, MA 02114 (617 726 8748). Over 95% of donations will go directly to research to fight cancers and leukemias that affect children. Cures for kids help adults too! Donna and Jill Nelson get the credit for organizing this drive, but YOU get all the thanks for giving!
You can follow our fund-raising progress at this site.
You can follow Tommy's progress at http://caringbridge.org/

I am glad that some of you were able to follow my running times at various checkpoints along the way at http://bostonmarathon.com/ The slower runners like me started about 30 minutes after the leaders, so subtracting about that much time from the clock times posted for me gave my net time. Since this little jog took me exactly 5 hours to complete last year, I set a goal of 4.5 hours this year, and I finished just about on that pace.
Step by step and donation by donation let's do what we can to help these great kids, their families, and adults like them. (As a bonus this effort has gotten me into the best physical shape I have been in since high school. No need to mention how long ago that was.)
Thanks for your support!!
Dave Harmon, M.D.
