David Hughes's Fundraising Page
Thank you so much for visiting my personal fundraising page. As you know, I am running the Boston Marathon Monday, April 21, 2008. I have also dedicated the race to raising money for the Melanoma Foundation New England. I need all the help I can get this year in raising money as I've pledged to raise $5,000!!! Your support is needed in order for me to achieve my goal.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support...it means so much to me when I'm out on the course. Thank you.
If you'd like to donate by check please follow these instructions:
Make your check out to Melanoma Foundation of NE and mail your check to me at:
David Hughes, 1023 S. Alfred Street, Los Angeles, CA 90035
Make sure to put my name is the memo section of your check!
I will then send your check to MFNE
Best,
David
Information on Non-Melanoma and Melanoma
How many people are affected by skin cancer? Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers. It accounts for nearly half of all cancers in the United States. More than 1 million cases of non-melanoma skin cancer are found in this country each year. The American Cancer Society estimates that about 59,940 new melanomas will be diagnosed in the United States during 2007. Melanoma is almost always curable when it is detected in its early stages. Although melanoma accounts for only a small percentage of skin cancer, it is far more dangerous than other skin cancers and causes most skin cancer deaths.
