2009 Climb to Cure Duchenne - Climbing Team Mt. Rainier,  Washington

David Schultz's Fundraising Page

Thank you for your interest in my cause. My name is David Schultz and I am Ryan's Dad.

Since learning of Ryan's diagnosis, I have taken a personal vow to fight and beat this disease for my son. I will not stop fighting until a cure is found...and this summer, along with a small team of DMD parents, doctors, researchers, and entertainers, I will ascend one of the largest mountains in the United States-Mt. Rainier, located in Washington State.

As a team, our goal is to raise over $250,000 dollars for Duchenne research, along with a large sum of priceless awareness. Each climber is responsible for raising $14,410 dollars by the August climb date; with each dollar representing one foot of the mountain's total elevation.

All donations will go directly towards research to find a cure for DMD, through "Cure Duchenne", which is a non-profit, parent-run foundation. "Cure Duchenne" is currently funding some of the most promising research trials in the world.

I am honored to be a part of this team and anxiously await the opportunity to stand at the summit of Mt. Rainier holding a banner with the words "Cure Duchenne". To some these words may mean nothing...but to me,these two words have become my entire existence.

This climb represents my life, my heart, my soul and most of all, my son. I ask that you please help me reach my personal goal of $14,410. No donation is too small and all donations will be GREATLY appreciated and used to find a cure.

It is our mission to let the world know that Duchenne muscular dystrophy must and will be cured for our children.

Thank You
