On March 4th, our brave crew, Team Liquid Courage, will partake in the 'Chicago Polar Plunge'. We will be making the intelligent decision to jump into Lake Michigan at near freezing temperatures... some of us may need the assistance of "liquid courage", which of course is encouraged. The good news is potentially getting hypothermia has a cause, the Chicago Special Olympics!

Donations made to the Chicago Polar Plunge account for 75% of the Special Olympics funding and is imperative to the events success. Every dollar helps and we greatly appreciate your support for this great cause! Please forward this site to your friends, family and co-workers to help Team Liquid Courage raise the most money in Chicago this year.

We are looking for both participants and donors, below are all of the details. This is a great opportunity to meet a lot of fun new people while supporting a great cause at the same time. Last year Team Liquid Courage had a record breaking 67 plungers and this year we are looking for upwards of 100 people participating in this year’s plunge and the inevitable ridiculous celebration afterwards. The day will include bars, food, bus ride and most likely a limo bus to and from all locations.

If you would like to participate please keep reading and feel free to give me or my brother a call at (630) 781-5858 with any questions. The more the merrier and the better odds of another 3 hour 100 person boat cruise during the summer w/ unlimited alcohol and food for all. Like last year when we win it I promise to put together a huge party for us all.

We will be jumping into Lake Michigan on March 4th (Sunday). Let it be known, those that do not want to jump in the water, you don't have to! The priorities are to raise money and enjoy eachothers company for the day at various bars and restaurants throughout Chicago. People who don't want to jump in can handle the pictures, towel holding and backpack guarding. Three years ago a friend of mine, Ryan Meals, invited me to jump in and I thought it was a great time. I'm not going to lie it was just about the worst day possible weather conditions-wise with 25 mile and hour winds, snow and an ice filled lake - and I STILL had a great time. The last two years have been merciful and iceless and hopefully it will be the same this year. Regardless, Special Children’s Charities does a great job of supplying heated tents, crews for your safety and towels when you get out of the water.

As for now we will be meeting at McFadden's around 8:00 - 8:15 AM (looks like they will be nice enough to open early for us). McFadden's will provide a drink deal with food throughout the morning and afternoon with HALF the money going to the charity! I will have a bus pick us up from McFadden's and it will drive us down to North Avenue Beach at 10:45 AM to make our jump. I recommend bringing a flask and or water bottle of Liquid Courage to drink before getting into the water... it is the name of our team after all. Once we get there we will change into whatever outfits we pick out and go jump in the water (people have been known to dress up in ridiculous costumes, so feel free to get creative, see the pictures attached). At the event there will be food for any participants, a coffee truck, and a cash bar amongst other things. After we all complete our jumps and get a little warmed up it is back on the bus to celebrate. The bus will take us all back out to McFadden's to continue the same wristband package of food and drinks to celebrate our victory over Mother Nature and dominance in fundraising.
