Welcome to the Cycle 4 Strays Donation Page!
Cycle 4 Strays is dedicated to advancing the rights of homeless companion animals in developing nations. By pedaling with no support vehicles, we wish to duplicate the hardships that strays experience on a daily basis throughout their lives, educating the public about responsible pet ownership and the need to be compassionate towards unwanted animals. Our outreach programs refute violent methods of dog and cat population control, promoting spay and neuter instead as the only viable, long term solution to the tragedy of homeless pets.
We will pedal for 5,000 kms from Utah to Costa Rica, stopping in every village and every shelter to bring a message of hope where it is needed the most: developing nations. Click here to learn more and follow the charity ride.
Please sponsor us! Your tax deductible donation will ensure that the McKee Foundation may continue with its population control strategy, promoting a proven and cost effective way to humanely lower the amount of dogs and cats living on the street.
Since 2001 the McKee Foundation has trained over 500 veterinarians at no cost to them in advanced spay and neuter surgery protocols in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Brazil and Argentina. In 2010 McKee will continue to work in Central America and has tentatively scheduled Puerto Rico for 2010/12.
At McKee we approach animal welfare very differently: we believe that if communities are not involved in the solution, animals will never lead better lives. Thus, we strive to change how people view and treat their animals, improve veterinary skills, create a new veterinarian/client relationship, and provide a framework for communities to sustainably and humanely lower the over population of dogs and cats without building shelters or resorting to mass euthanasia.
As we all know, the road to animal advocacy is long and arduous in developing nations: we will cover it one revolution at a time, spinning forward towards a better future for all the furry wanderers of the world.
With as little as $10 we can spay/neuter an animal: help us make the ultimate difference and lets end the tragedy of homeless pets! Sponsor 1 dog or cat or as many as you can afford.
100% of the funds collected will benefit the McKee Project: C4S riders are donating their own time and money to this charitable effort.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. The McKee Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 in the United States and your donation is fully tax deductible. You will receive an electronic receipt for you tax advisor.
Thank you for your support. Please forward this to anyone you think might want to donate too!
"Muchisimas gracias!" on behalf of all the furry wanderers of the world!
Finally, a word about our sponsors. We only contacted companies that market products that we actually use in our training regimen or in our community outreach efforts. We want to partner with environmentally and socially conscious organizations that commercialize products that are actually good for you or that provide a needed service to the communities in which we are active with our outreach efforts.
We believe that C4S stands for a lot more than just promoting spay and neuter. We strive to bring a message of hope to communities in developing nations: respect for the environment, sustainability, fair trade, animal welfare and a healthy lifestyle.
In the end, if we don't help the community, we won't be able to help its strays. Only by promoting a healthier, more livable environment for all its denizens - of both the 2 and 4 legged kind -we will succeed in making the ultimate difference.
Please support the companies that have chosen to support C4S! All of us together can jump start a positive circle of change that will ultimately become the community's new circle of life.
