I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support in my drive to help in the education of our children here in Broward County, Florida. As you'll recall when attending grade school or helping your children or grandchildren with their homework during their kindergarten through twelfth grade years, there was little if any economic education or preparation for their individual financial literacy. School curriculums and teacher schedules are loaded with requirements of which economic education and their financial literacy is only touched upon.
We are fortunate in Florida and here in Broward County to have one of the countries strongest advocates for student economic education and their financial literacy through Junior Achievement. This private support organization provides curriculum and volunteer teachers in our K-12 classrooms and a full "Biz Town" educational campus in our Broward College campus that is second to none.
My ask of you today is to help me in my support of our Regions Bank Bowlathon Fund Raising Campaign underway this month.
For those of us running a business, think about how your employees learn about the concepts of profit and hiring staff, think about the guidance on how to build a business budget and then navigate the regulatory systems to start your own business. Think about how city growth development, utilities and property utilization is established. Think about how they learned to prepare and manage a household budget so they could afford to buy a home or a car. All of that is provided through Junior Achievement curriculums delivered by a private/public partnership with our Public Schools. I am asking you to help me support JA.
I began participating in Junior Achievement back in the late 1970's when I coached 3 JA company programs. I later became the Chairperson of Junior Achievement of Tampa in the 1990's and today I am still convinced of the impact of Junior Achievement on our students and support it with my company here in Fort Lauderdale, Regions Bank. Won't you help me out?
Thank you and think about the kids!
