What is Thoracic Outlet Syndrome(TOS)?
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome is a complex condition involving compression, irritation or direct injury of major structures within the thoracic outlet such as the subclavian vein, subclavian artery and the Brachial Plexus. TOS can be very painful, debilitating and sometimes life and limb threatening. TOS can be a very difficult condition to diagnose and treat and very painful for patients. Surgical and non surgical outcomes vary with every patient.
Why are we raising money?
ATOSA is announcing a very important donation campaign to go ahead with it's plans to move forward with their patient conference in October. In association with Washington University School of Medicine, CORE-TOS (Research Consortium), the American Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Association has established Friday and Saturday, October 23-24, 2009 as conference dates. The conference will be held at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. in conjunction with a professional TOS conference. This is most certainly an historic event for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome patients and a first ever of its kind. Now comes the hard work, putting everything together, securing sponsors, speakers and funds. This is an enormous task and ATOSA needs your help financially. Every little bit counts and goes directly towards this historic conference. Please consider making a donation today. This will be a wonderful time for all and hopefully it will help bring Thoracic Outlet Syndrome to the forefront of modern medicine as well as appropritate treatment and a cure.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you again for your support!!!
Sincerely yours,
Dawn Grace (TOS) patient since 2004
