Finnian James came into the world on November 13, 2008. It was so wonderful to finally meet him! We had seen so much of him throughout the pregancy, it was great to hug him and give him all the kisses he so deserved. As most of you know, Bill and I found out that Finn had a cleft lip and palate during our pregnancy. It was a shock to say the least. No one in our families ever had a cleft lip and palate. When we got home from the doctor that day, I went to bed and cried and Bill went online. He gathered as much information as he could about Finn's condition. It was then that he called the incredible cleft team at NYU. Not only did they put our mind at ease, but were available to us 24/7 to answer any questions we had or simply to lend a comforting ear during such an emotional time. We brought Finn to NYU when he was just 6 days old. We knew then that we were in the most capable hands and that everything would be ok. Finn is approaching his second surgery, and while we are anxious, as with any child going through surgery, we have no doubt that he will get through this with flying colors. Finn looks amazing and is the happiest boy we know. We owe so much to the IRPS. We hope that you are able to support this wonderful cause and make a difference in the life of a child.
