Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
UPDATE!
The girls did wonderful in the race. Our family got there right before the fun run began at 10am. When we finally got the the park from our parking place, guess who met us??? Uncle Jessie and Aunt Becky! We had no idea they were going to come! Uncle Jessie had even ran in the real race at 8am, bless him! LOL
Shelby, Mallory and Mike ran during the fun run while Samara, Becky, Jessie and I just mozied along. I meant to take pictures during the run, but I lost track of Shelby pretty quick as there were SO many people there.
After the run, we spent a couple hours playing on the inflatables. We actually stayed untl they started cleaning up and Shelby STILL wasn't ready to leave!
It was great and I can't thank everyone enough who supported us. A special thanks to Becky and Jessie...you have NO idea how much that meant to us.
We arrive!

On May 9th, we are going to participate in an Autism Awareness fun run! So far we only have our family members on our team, but we'd LOVE to have anyone who'd like to join!
About Shelby: After a long and stressful first 2 years of life with no answers, we finally got a diagnosis at 2 years, 4 months of Classic Autism. Shelby is now 6 and functions at a young 2 year old level. She is very loving, silly and happy; She is always able to make us laugh with her silly faces and dramatic scenes. She is a social butterfly, always saying "hi" to strangers. She seems to really enjoy talking to men. The standard "How you doin'" is followed by a few minutes of jabbering and fake laughing.
She has attended Oak Crest Preschool for 3 years and has THE best teacher in the world. Without Miss Terri's support, understanding and well, her reality checks, we wouldn't have made the accomplishments we have during these past couple years.
Shelby also has 2 sisters. Her older sister, Mallory, is 7 and her younger siste, Samara, is 4 years old. Her sisters do a terrific job keeping her in line and are very understanding given the circumstances.
It will be interesting to see how Shelby handles running in a group of people...especially a group of men. Can you imagine how many times she's going to have to say, "How YOU doin'?" to all the good lookin guys around? Haa. Our goal is to stay on the path, not get ran over just in case we fall down a few times, and cross the finish line!
If you'd like to run with us, just register and join our team. If you would like to show your support, donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
