A few years ago my friends and I got together to walk in the National Brain Tumor Society's fundraising walk. One of our dearest childhood friends has a daughter who was stricken with brain cancer in December of 2006, and we all wanted to let our friend and her daughter know how much we love them, and to do good deeds in their name. We each set up pages at FirstGiving to help raise money for the NBTS and we raised a lot of money. My friend's daughter's name is Samara, hence the name "Team Samara".

As we walked in the sunshine that day, me with my own children with me, I thought to myself that I don't want this to be a one-time event. I want to do a good deed in my friend's daughter's name on a regular basis. But I didn't know what exactly I wanted to do.

In the years since that walk, I set up a personal website for myself. I sew for fun and occasionally draft my own patterns for small projects. I decided to offer these patterns for free on my website in the hope that people who use them will occasionally "thank" me by donating to a good cause.  You have come upon the donation page. Even though the official walk is long over, you can still donate to the NBTS through this page.
