Deb Cohen's Fundraising Page
As many of you know, I had a life-changing experience last summer when I visited the Highlands of Guatemala. I went with Highland Support Project and worked with kids in schools, While there, I visited the village of Xeabaj II, a community that was destroyed by a hurricane in 2005. One of the village's goals is to build a modest cement play area so that their children will not have to play in and breathe the 4-6 inches of dust that accumulates during the dry season. The community also envisions it as a place that could be used for basketball and soccer games as well as community meetings and celebrations.
I am assembling a team to return to Guatemala July 18 - July 25, 2009 to begin work on the play area. I would LOVE to have you join me. Please email or call me immediately if you are game.
If you can't come with me this summer, but think that this sounds like a worthy cause, please make a donation. All of the money will go towards the construction of the play space (which has a steep price tag of $17,000!)
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
With love,
Deb
