Debbi Hanlon's Fundraising Page
Friends and Family,
It has been a year since my last fundraising effort. In those 12 months the economy has tanked hurting the ability for many non profits to provide the services to those most in need of help~ those who are usually first to be let go from jobs because of their health care costs. Those with never enough health insurance.
In a few weeks I will run my first ultra, which is a 50k (31 miles) trail race through the trails of Kettle Moraine State Park in Wisconsin along with a friend. I have never done such an event and am only hopeful to finish, hopefully running, and at the very least walking, and if all else fails~crawling!
I was unsure with the state of the economy if I was going to ask others for donations. But then I looked at Grace and knew that this economy was going to be detrimental to the progress of finding a cure for NF, so how could I pull back now on my efforts!
So I am asking. For $5 or $10...it all adds up...and helps thousands and thousands of Americans who are affected by NF.
This weekend Amy(my running partner for the ultra) and I are off to Picnkney for a Woodstock Trail marathon~ we are both nervous about being able to finish~ the trail is suppose to be hilly and a trail marathon can take a few hours longer than the 3 or 4 to finish a road marathon! So we will be running for 5 or 6 hours this Saturday just to prepare for the run next month! We just hope it does not rain~Amy's shoe gets very squeaky.
I appreciate the support and help I have received over the past 5 years. I know for many things are tight, so thanks for even taking the time to read my plea. If you can give a little we are always grateful for the generosity of others towards my endeavors and goals.
Thanks for helping me to continue my mission to Run4NF and
provide a future full of hope for Grace Edith and others affected by
neurofibromatosis.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Stay tuned for the outcome of our 'training' trail run this weekend!
