On March 31 , we will once again be participating in a charity ski event called the Vertical Cure. It is a ski-a-thon event challenging participants to ski as many vertical feet as possible in one day. All of the participants are collecting charitable pledges based on the total amount skied. To calculate the descents, altimeter watches are being provided to everyone participating.
The donations will assist in finding a cure for Scleroderma – a chronic, autoimmune tissue disease that currently does not have a cure and affects over 300,000 people. This disease was first brought to our attention when the mother of a good friend of Debbie’s was diagnosed. Since learning of the disease we know others who also suffer. For more information on Scleroderma you can visit: www.scleroderma.org.
The past 10 years, our event has raised over $210,000 for the Scleroderma Foundation as participants have skied over 7 million feet for the cause – and we have had a great time doing it.
Thank you for visiting our Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
