Reese needs your help
UPDATE: I have went through my heartworm treatment and have lost all the weight I have gained. The vet isn't real happy with my progress at this point, but I am trying really hard to make him happy. He is happy with my heart though. He said it sounded better after the heartworm treatment so hopefully that is all it was. The last few days I have been eating good. I received a shot and that seemed to make me feel better. I just hope it continues. I will send more info later. I am tired and have to rest.
UPDATE: I am feeling much better these days as you can tell from my picture. I am not gaining the weight back as fast as the vet would like, but I am trying my best. Good news however, I do not have blood in my urine anymore so the doctor is pleased with that. I go back on 5/31 to get checked out again. Hopefully I will be able to get some more vetting so I can get a little closer to being adopted.
Thank you for visiting Reese's page! Reese came into our rescue as a severely neglected and abusive home. He has made a long trip from Louisiana to Virginia to a wonderful foster home. He is a young boy between the ages of 1 and 3 with unusual spotting. He is also deaf, but learns very fast. He is a very sweet boy and great with kids! He gets scared when a male grabs his collar. as his former owner would grab his collar and kick him in the ribs. He was taken to a shelter because he accidentally scratched someone and they wanted to euthanize him. His nails were so long that he had difficulty walking.
Next is the heartworm treatment. He has to gain the necessary weight and recover from the urinary tract infection before he can begin treatment. He also has a grade 3 to 4 heart murmur which will need to be monitored. Once he is strong enough to undergo treatment, he will start the process.
We would like to get him a full blood panel work up. But we need your help to do that. We will spent more than $1000.00 on him and our adoption fee is never over $200.00. We want him to have the best for the rest of his life.
We are a 501c3 organization and the donation that you give is fully tax deductible. Please consider helping Smiley get the vet care he deserves.
